Cilento

Cilento, from the ancient name “Cis Alentum” which means on this side of the river Alento, in the past it was full of churches and monasteries, but it still provides reasonable grounds for concern. The Cilento coast is more than half of the entire coast of Salerno and is characterized by soft sunny beaches interrupted by rocky cliffs and capes, sinuosity and gorges of wild and striking beauty. The charm of Cilento is not just on the coast. The hilly and mountainous area is also warm and suggestive, wealthy of greenery and fresh air for the streams and rivers that cross it. Gelbison Mount collects thousands of pilgrims who pay homage to Our Lady of the Sacred Mount in the period from May to October.
